Road Trip USA    (Summer 2001)

30 days      Miles Driven- 11,000

Time to hit the road!  This trip started in Reno, NV and we slowly made our way out East to New York hitting all the major National Parks along the way.  On the drive East we stayed south going through Utah, Colorado, Michigan then to New York.  On the way back we went up to the tip of Michigan, to Wisconson, Wyoming, South Dakoda, Montana and all the way to Oregon before heading South back to California.  Sam had a wacky idea to stop at every states welcome sign and take a picture (I put a few favorites in). Their are lots of the pictures from Glacier National Park in Wyoming, it was one of many highlights.

Mesa Verde, Colorado.  These small cliff cities looked like a city of people that just got up and left days ago.

I loved Rocky Mountain National Park and vowed to return.  The road winded its way up over a 12,000ft pass.

Canyonlands National Park, UT.  We might as well make all of Utah a national park.  It is like a distant planet out there.

Our trip was over, we made to many of the most beautiful parts of this Country.  I cannot believe how diverse the different types of places we made it to from the ancient desert villages of Mesa Verde to the glacier valleys of Glacier National Park. We also met up with lots of familiy along the way.  America is truly spectacular and car is the perfect way to traverse it.
